Nearly 50 years ago, a group of parents got together to put on a show to raise money for a local ballet school. The show was a success, money was raised, and the performers had just as much fun as the audience, possibly more! The rest, as they say, is history. Highcliffe Charity Players has grown and evolved over the years but we are thrilled to say that some of those same founder members are still involved with the players today!
Our ethos has not changed over the years, to this day it is our goal to entertain our audiences whilst raising money for local causes that are near and dear to the hearts of our membership. Over the past half decade, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our members, we have been able to donate tens of thousands of pounds to a variety of local charities.
We do this by performing generally two shows a year, always a Pantomime in Januray at the Regent Centre and then either a comedy revue or a musical. We have been lucky enough to build our audiences over the years and long may it continue!
It is a lot of fun being a Charity Player. There is hard work and commitment but always lots of laughs. Think this is something you want to get involved with? We are always looking to recruit new members in to the HCP family, send us a message, follow us on facebook, we'd love to hear from you!
